The story of a clown learning what it means to love. Created and performed by Rachael Woodward this is an interactive show combining shadow puppetry, clowning and animation. Developed as a part of Spare Parts First Hand Program it premiered at the Awesome International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things.

Leon

Leon the Chameleon

Leon the Chameleon is a small puppet which was made for the Melbourne Festival of Puppetry. Leon can magically change colour to blend into his surroundings. He loves meeting new people, especially young children! Leon has a short little show but also acts as a roving puppet. 

Teaching Artist

Teaching Artist

Rachael works as a teaching artist, creating and making work with children from young kids to teenagers. Her work as a teaching artist is varied and includes everything from drama based activities, full scale productions, puppetry, making and editing films, and a lot of other things in-between. As well as running independent programs Rachael has worked with companies such as Barking Gecko Theatre Company, DADAA (Artlink), and Awesome Arts (Creative Challenge).

What's Love Got To Do With It?

If you could buy a cure for love would you? What's Love Got To Do With It is a fast paced satirical exploration of love and lost. A Pharmaceutical boardroom weighs up the pros and cons of releasing a drug that cures love. A development from the Tilt WAAPA project "The Remedy", What's Love was first presented at Blue Room Theatre in 2016 and was directed by Rachael Woodward. What's Love Got To Do With It? also won the Blue Room Audience Development Award.

Skin and Threads

Skin and Threads is a contemporary performance collaboration between Chloe Evangilisti and Rachael Woodward. Two girls stand in big heavy dresses made from the fabric of their history. Their hair is braided into rope and braided together. Skin and Threads is an exploration of identity and family history, it underwent creative development in 2015/2016.
